R&B Debate!

Who's The King of R&B?

It's been a lot of talk on who is king of R&B. Young talent Jacquees declared himself the king of R&B in a recent interview with the popular morning show The Breakfast Club and sent the music world and those alike in a frenzy. Everyone went on to posting video and statuses across social media giving their opinion and or just saying who they feel is the real king of  R&B. Most agree Jacquees is not the king by a long shot. There are so many artists who have been out longer than Jacquees and still have current music constantly dropping. You would think he's the only person alive singing when he made his statement. Most people gave this title to Chris Brown but I'd like to remind you of other great artists.

  1. Neo
  2. Bruno Mars
  3. Trey Songz
  4. Tyrese
  5. Jamie Fox
  6. Miguel
  7. R.Kelly
  8. Usher
  9. Bazzi
  10. Bryson Tiller
  11. Robin Thick

I just gave you six besides Chris Brown that is very relevant but we really should ask ourselves what makes you a king of R&B before we declare who's king. There are a few things one must have to be king. Here are a few below

  1. Dance
  2. Sing and sound the same in and out the studio
  3. A positive image is a plus
  4. Original style of fashion
  5. Show respects to the greats living and dead
  6. Currently still dropping music or have a legendary catalog
  7. Sex symbol
  8. Award winner, some type of chart-topping moments
  9. Headline a sold-out tour

I'm undecided at the moment. Jacquees is talented however I will say that if you don't have the majority of this list checked off I'd shut up and go back to the studio.
