STD'S R US

Safe Sex Please

It's no secret std's exist and with the world being so free now it's never to late to be updated on the changes in the sexually transmitted world. There are four new std's on the rise reported by CNN and the CDC. The spread is being attributed to gay, bisexual, and the adolescence in Europe, Canada, and  the United States. Being that the bisexual community is affected mean that heterosexual women are in danger of this spread as well. Which give urgency to bring awareness to this issue.

Condoms can only do so much. Us as individuals need to be more clean. After researching the information I can see that we have to discuss this if we want to stop it from becoming a serious public health threat. Simple solutions could help.
  1. Neisseria Meningitidis- A contagious bacteria that lives in the mucous membrane of humans as a parasite. Since adults can carry this in the back of their nose and throat it is being passed on by deep kissing, oral sex, and any close contact of infected bodily fluids. It can cause invasive meningitis. A deadly infection of the brain and spinal cord's protective membranes. It is also one of the causes of urogenital infections. A non-sexual transmitted infection but self-inflicted like a UTI.
  2. Mycoplasma genitalium- Common in young adults. It is often symptom-free but can mimic chlamydia or gonorrhea. If untreated can lead to PID, miscarriage, infertility, premature or stillbirth. Able to be treated with the same medicine however it is growing resistant to the vaccine. There is a fear that because it is growing stronger eventually the medicine will not work and there is research still being done.
  3. Shigella flexneri- Also known as Shigellosis. Passed on by direct and indirect contact with human feces. You will have severe cramps and explosive diarrhea that is filled with blood and mucus. Also commonly spread in young kids and travelers. This std could become harder to cure as well. It too is growing stronger than its vaccine which is used also to treat gonorrhea.  There has been a new outbreak through anal-oral sex and some doctors are refusing to treat with vaccine and instead letting Shigellosis takes its short toll on the body.
  4. Lymphogranuloma Venereum- Also known as LGV is caused by a type of chlamydia. You may see a pimple, blister, or an ulcer on your genital area at first. Then it will attack your lymphatic system. It may also spread to the butt area causing issues like IBD, fistulas, and strictures. LGV treatments can take up to a possible 3 weeks of antibiotics to cure.
If you notice the process of contamination, then you should agree simple solutions would be
cleanliness and the other would be willpower. If you are sick at any stage with a contagious bacterial or viral infection don't engage in sexual conduct at all. The same thing goes if someone is sick don't let them kiss you or receive oral sex. This is when willpower comes into play. It's hard to fight temptation but safety is a must and the risk is high. Remember everyone doesn't disclose their sexual preference or secrets. Testing is available so don't assume. Just say no until the sniffles is gone and WASH YOUR HANDS!!!

Straight out of Compton (C.U.S.D)

Topic: Compton and Its Unified School District

Compton itself is a small city located on the outskirts of  LA with a lot to offer. It's filled with a variety of small family homes and to what some would consider being mini-mansions, gated communities, and green parks. Majority of these homes have fruit trees on the property. The city also has its own court system, jail, and a school district as well. A truly independent town in its own right. However when you hear the name Compton it rings a negative bell.

More infamous for a reputation of being a hard place to grow up. With the heavy gang activity, it can be a tough place to get out of if you get caught in that world. Most kids get recruited or make a choice to join a gang between 5th and 9th grade depending on the social or family setting. It's a mental prison with a negative image that is glorified to the world. The cities great potential and the truth that greatness comes out of Compton is a well-kept secret. I'm sure you've heard of Venus and Serena Williams, Kendrick Lamar, Ice Cube, Demar Derozen, and Dr.Dre? These are a few on a list of many that not only came up but made it out of Compton. They represent as they should by being positive, humble. and preaching education. A direct opposite of what you envision when you think of the people who live here or what this place possibly look like.

However, in enjoying the beauty of the city there are some circumstances as those who lived here all their lives. It is possible to make it out but you have a choice of what road to take. If you make a choice to gang bang, then choose what gang to be in and risk not making it to the 9th grade. If you make a choice to focus on sports, then choose what you feel is your best sport. You can also decide on education. The problem with all three choices is that Compton put more focus and funds toward supposedly fighting the gang community then it does for education or the upkeep of the city. Politically the are incompetent which leads to not only missing funds for community projects, poor road conditions, but most importantly a poor education system.

The kids are missing major opportunities that are being utilized by other schools right outside their district. The staff and the school board protect each other as far as job positions but will risk or use the kids at their will. If you live in Compton you school in Compton should be the motto. Needing a permit to leave Compton to attend any other school. You must have good reason to get a granted permit. Here's the thing, even if you live in Compton if your kids attend an outside school there is no transportation help. There is barely any transportation for the schools in Compton so it is understandable. If your thinking of what kind of reason would allow them to release your child? I used there were education opportunities at other schools that benefited my daughter's education that they did not offer. She's been free 2 years and doesn't want to go back. Sound like jail right?

This has prompted me to create a group meeting for guys and girls middle school to high school and discuss communication skills and domestic violence and possible other opportunities will follow If I get the o.k. I can't do this without bringing it to the school board first. I hope I can educate the young beautiful kids of Compton on a better way to deal with certain issues that happen outside of the home. Citizens of Compton are good people and want the best for their kids and community. I want to do my part.
